I purchased a mini-split ductless heat pump after having Steve come out and prepare an estimate on several different options of heating that they offer. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I was using the kerosene monitor heating system previously but I recently remodeled and decided to go with something that was more energy efficient. I have seen savings of nearly 50% on my electric bill during our coldest months here in Del Norte County. Ryan did amazing work installing and teaching us how to use the new mini-split ductless heat pump. It is the perfect addition to my remodel. Thoroughly impressed and enjoy the comfort of our new heating system. I love it! Thanks Frank's for getting the job done quickly.
The thermostat on my furnace was not working properly so I called Frank's Heating & Refrigeration. I was fortunate as they had a cancellation and the technician Steve arrived about 20 minutes later. He worked fast, efficiently, was very pleasant and gave me several options after first trying to repair the thermostat. Orca heating was able to accommodate my schedule and send out their technician almost immediately. Our heat pump was making loud, worrying noises. Chris was professional, polite, had his mask on the whole time he was here and knew exactly what to repair. He caught a potential problem and nipped it in the bud, preventing what could have been major water damage in our ceiling. We appreciate his great service and will ask for him again!
I went into Frank's just to check out what was available as far as hot tubs go and figure out my options. I was welcomed with one on one service from Frank. He listened to what I was looking for and showed me some tubs I might like. Frank explained in detail all the features from the different jet packs, to the lighting, to the size that would be most comfortable for my family. After deciding what I liked, it was delivered and installed by a professional crew. They were more than accommodating when it came to me changing my mind a few times about where to set it up at. In the end,their main concern was that I was happy. With such a big purchase, it can be very intimidating and you ask yourself many times if your making the right choice. In the end, I couldn't be happier with the hot tub and the peace of mind knowing I got everything I was looking for.

Guess my job isnt good enough. So i spent 7k else where. Won't use them again. I value communication and responsiveness.

Response to service is ok, just get 2 or more estimates Frank's is very proud for what they provide and if your a senior citizen watch the heck out . no break down on the estimates just the overpriced service. We did call for our mother but basically lip service someone would call us back , 450. For a stove pipe cap is a bit excessive

I bought a Heat Pump for my house, and I have to say it's the best thing I could of done. I highly recommend them, they are really Good and very Professional. I was paying a lot for having Propane Furnace. Now having this Heat Pump my electric bill is sooo Low . I really wish I would have bought my Heat Pump sooner...

Working with this company has been a joke. From the beginning two technicians came out to install the largest Trane unit they carry ( it has two sensors) and these professionals forgot to connect one, our electric bill tripled, when we called them back they came out and couldn't figure out what was happening and why our unit was running on auxiliary heat.... few months later another tech comes out and discovers that it had been installed incorrectly. They charged us to come out and fix it mind you I had been paying an outrageous electric bill for approximately 6 months now. I refused to pay for their mistake and the owner refused to work with us and put us on a Black List and decided to blame everything on rodents that caused the unit to malfunction. After many conversations with Trane company (cooperate) I got no where. We had to pay Frank's over $500 and now he has given me an estimate of over $1100 (for parts) I looked up the parts online and found them for $510 and am told that I have to pay these ridiculous prices because I'm not a contracted customer, what ever that means. I guess when you buy a $12,000 unit from them it doesn't make you a contracted customer..... Because there are no other technicians that can work on a Trane unit ( because if they do you void your warranty) they feel they can charge what ever. I am so disappointed I wanted to share our story. This may cause them to Black List me again but I had to share.

We called Frank's Heating and Refrigeration (also known as orca)and spoke with Jesse. She set up an appointment for a technician to come out. James came out this morning. He checked everything on the heater and explained that one of the switches was not working that makes the fan come on with the Heat. He explained the price we agreed to replace it and he did and then he cleaned and put everything back. He then gave us a bill we paid him and thanked him it was really nice meeting him. I highly recommend calling Franks or Orca heating and refridgeration.
I own a bar in Brookings Oregon as well as several other businesses which use refrigeration. My normal refrigeration technician was ill and I decided to call Franks Refrigeration in Crescent City California. What a mistake that was!!!!I am not one to write a negative review but in this case it is well deserved. I called Franks Office on 07/12/2017 because one of our ice machines was slowing down and the harvest times were off. I was informed that if I could be available between 10AM and 12PM that they had another appointment and would be already in Brookings and that the technician could swing by and have a look. The Technician showed up and immediately identified the problem as being a small internal screen filter approximately 6"x6" needed to be brushed off. A quick and easy fix constituting 4 screws one plug and the use of my shop vac and brush to clean off the screen allowing the proper air flow to the condenser coil. When I recieved the bill $309.30 including a $66.30 dollar "Trip Charge" I was less than happy. I called Franks several times and was unable to speak with anyone who could make any adjustments to the absorbent charges. I waited 8 days for the owner "Frank" to call me back with no such luck. Today I called again and spoke with a man who told me he would personally deliver my message to Frank. I received a call back from the owner "Frank" and I explained my position as to being told a technician would already be in my area and why I had a "Trip Charge" added to my bill? I also explained the nature of the problem and the quick fix that was required. I should add that we service our machines and filters on a regular basis and that this internal filter screen was apparently a common problem with the Manitowoc under counter ice machines. Frank told me he thought I was looking to get out of paying my bill and that the charges were justified. I got upset and said "its not ##cking right to tell someone one thing and than charge them another. Frank used this as his opportunity to end the call by hanging up on me, citing the fact that I used profanity. Guess what Frank I've now had my local refrigeration company here in Brookings inform me of your practices and your reputation. I must admit I had heard from other bar and restaurant owners that you had a bad reputation in Brookings and had my normal technician not been out sick I would never call a shiester like you. You ripped me off Frank and you are not even an honest enough guy to see the real issue here. I have rarely ever complained or made a fuss over poor service until today. 309 bucks for a fix that would have taken my regular technician an hour and cost me $75 buck !!!! Never againI suggest anyone who ever reads this to call a different company and get an estimate.
